Steven

After being struck by a car as a pedestrian, I sustained a brain injury, experienced post-traumatic Stress disorder and had my leg amputated.

Situation

Before N-Able got involved, I was living alone with no input from local services as I struggled to engage with and trust people. I was struggling to cope with the physical and cognitive difficulties, but wasn’t sure where to turn. I hadn’t been looking after myself very well leading to depression and further physical and cognitive difficulties, as well as financial trouble.

Solution

I was referred to N-Able and began working with my Case Manager. Though it took some time to build trust, he persevered and never gave up on me. He was able to explain to me why I felt the way I did and helped me gain back some control. He helped me re-engage with services, including getting me a new leg which helped me massively.

Outcome

  • I got a new leg which improved my mobility, which improved my physical and mental health considerably.
  • I have started to get on top of my finances with the support of the team at N-Able, and my gas and electric don’t get cut off so often.
  • I have started a photography course at college and feel like have some direction in my life.
Although I still have bad periods, I know I can always reach out to N-Able for support before things get out of control. That gives me confidence and reassurance.
